The three ways you can get you website onto the first page of google are as follows:
1) You can pay to be on page 1 - Google Pay Per Click.
2) You can place you business into google places of the city your business is located in. You do need to have a physical location as they will send you a postcard to your business location to verify that you actaully do have a real location.
3) You can get your site on to page 1 with organic SEO. To rank well with organic SEO you need good content that is written in an SEO friendly way that has the correct formatting of title tags,keywords,meta description,H1 and H2 tags and all so has a good number of backlinks from other sites. The number of backlinks you need to your site will depend on what market/niche you are in and how many links your competitors have and how good the quality of the links your competitor has.
